Creative Promotional Gifts
Posted on November 14th, 2007 No commentsWorking nine to five jobs all year round can get tiresome. It’s the little things like weekends and holidays that keep us going. Another thing that can keep our spirits up is when our employers make attempts at making the work environment more pleasant. This includes occasional office parties, outings and holiday gifts. Many companies give standard, boring gifts, which are not received so graciously. There is no reason to give unexciting gifts when you can find a terrific selection of corporate gifts at promopeddler.com.
By getting creative promotional items to give to your employees as gifts, you will ultimately be improving the quality of the work that your employees produce. Great promotional products such as sports, electronic and travel gifts are just the right things to boost one’s spirits and give them incentive to work hard.

Computing for Opportunity Cost
Posted on November 14th, 2007 No commentsYou have a set amount of money to invest. Before you jump into the first interesting scheme that comes your way, think about opportunity cost. Basically, it’s what you miss out on by grabbing one alternative instead of another—say, $500 on a computer (which you can use for an online business), putting the money in a mutual fund, or going on vacation.
In order to weigh opportunity cost, think of possible yield, risk, and future value. An online business can deliver good profits, but are you willing to put in the time to run it, or do you have the funds to develop it, if needed? A mutual fund is certainly less time-consuming, and depending on the mix of investments, can be medium to high risk. And a vacation is great, but you’ll be spending money, not earning it—although some say memories are priceless.
It’s really your decision, but make it an informed one. Before you spend, or invest, anything, think about what you’re giving up in exchange.

Keeping Calm
Posted on November 13th, 2007 No commentsSome people cannot tolerate horror movies while others are addicted to them. The rush of excitement one experiences upon being frightened is a thrill which many enjoy. Stephen King has succeeded in scaring millions of readers and viewers to the core, it’s no wonder he is called the king of horror. He has had many best selling books that were made into movie hits such as Misery and the Green Mile. The Mist by Stephen King is the newest movie based on one of his books.
This movie takes place primarily in a supermarket when all of a sudden something unknown attacks from the outside, leaving the shoppers, including a father and young son, trapped inside. Whatever it is that is outside, is lurking behind a mist, and they cannot see what is threatening them. As the situation worsens, the captives begin to panic, and start turning on each other.
Stressful situations tend to bring out one’s true and inner persona. When I got stuck in an elevator once, I experienced something similar, on a different level of course. Some people got fidgety, anxious and eventually violent while others did everything to keep everyone calm and sane. Being that I felt somewhere in between these two personas, I did my best to keep calm and keep myself safe until help arrived. This movie felt so real, I had chills throughout my entire body.

Creating Inheritance Where There in None
Posted on November 11th, 2007 No commentsLeaving an inheritance behind is no longer a monopoly of exceptionally moneyed people. Any person who is gainfully employed can create his/her own inheritance for his/her loved ones. This is possible through a life insurance policy where the people of your choice can be named as beneficiaries. However, it is important that enough life insurance is bought to achieve this goal.
A suitable coverage will ensure that your beneficiaries will enjoy a relatively comfortable life at least while they are trying to adjust to the effects of the death of a bread winner. It is so easy to set aside this future need for some future time but no one would really know when it will be needed. Taking action while there is still time will seal the fate of your dependents for a better tomorrow.
